I have a dream,
A place where individuals and their children can come for safety, education, and peace.
To help protect, give shelter, and then guide domestic violence victims and their children into a world more enlightened than they came in before.

Women's Aid
I have a vision.
A vision of a place where individuals and their children can find safety, healing, and hope.
A sanctuary where victims of domestic violence are welcomed with compassion, protected with dignity, and supported with the tools they need to rebuild their lives.
This future home will offer more than shelter — it will provide education, empowerment, and emotional healing, helping survivors step confidently into a safer world, equipped with awareness, resources, and renewed strength.
Here, we will address the mental, spiritual, and physical needs of each person who comes through our doors. We will help break the cycle of generational trauma caused by domestic violence — not just for today, but for every tomorrow that follows.
This will be a place shaped by counseling, nature, meditation, community, and holistic health & animals.
And I’ve already found the perfect land for it — right here in our hometown.
My dream is to build this sanctuary, a place powered by people who truly care. A place funded by the hearts of our community. Nurtured locally. Built by those who believe in making a real difference.
Even the smallest contribution — just $1 or a simple share — brings us one step closer to purchasing this land and bringing this life-saving vision to reality.
You may not know me, or perhaps you’ve walked with me through this journey. Either way, I want to share the reason behind my mission.
My family has lived with the shadow of domestic violence for as long as I can remember. But everything changed on July 17, 2019.
That was the day my 19-year-old sister, Alyssa Christine Dodd, was murdered by her boyfriend — a man who blended into society, hiding the truth of who he really was:
a predator.
He was the same kind of man who took the lives of:
And far too many more.
Alyssa was bright, kind, trusting — and she loved deeply.
But she loved someone who destroyed her.
Her life was stolen. The ripple of pain still spreads.
And so, I made a promise:
Her death will not be in vain.
This foundation — this sanctuary — is how I keep that promise.
To honor Alyssa.
To protect others.
To save lives before it’s too late.

Together, we can create a place where victims become survivors, where families find peace, and where healing begins.
