I have a dream,
A place where individuals and their children can come for safety, education, and peace.
To help protect, give shelter, and then guide domestic violence victims and their children into a world more enlightened than they came in before.
I have a vision.
A place where individuals and their children can find safety, education, and peace—where victims of domestic violence are offered not only shelter but also the guidance needed to rebuild their lives. My goal is to provide support that empowers and enlightens, helping victims transition into a safer world, armed with awareness and knowledge that promotes healing. This sanctuary would address their mental, spiritual, and physical needs, creating a pathway toward breaking the cycle of generational trauma caused by domestic violence (DV).
This will be a place where counseling, nature, meditation, community, and health are prioritized. And I have found the perfect land for this vision, right here in our hometown.
My dream is to create this space free from large corporate influence and state funding, a place built by the people who truly care. Locally nurtured, and supported by those who want to make a real difference.
Even the smallest contribution—just $1 or a share of this fundraiser—can help make this dream a reality. Together, we can work towards purchasing the property and manifesting this vision into a life-saving sanctuary for those who need it most.
You may not know me, or perhaps you’ve been following my journey for some time. Either way, I’d like to briefly share my family’s story.
For the entirety of my 28 years of life, my family has endured the devastating effects of domestic violence. However, everything changed on July 17, 2019.
That was the day my 19-year-old sister, Alyssa Christine Dodd, tragically lost her life to domestic violence. She was murdered by a man who appeared to be a part of society but was,
in fact, a dangerous predator.
This is the same type of individual who has taken the lives of so many others:
And the list continues.
Alyssa was a beautiful, innocent soul who loved unconditionally, but tragically, she loved the wrong person. Her life was stolen, leaving behind a ripple effect of pain and grief.
To honor Alyssa’s memory and make sure her death was not in vain, I am dedicated to creating a safe haven where others can be saved from the same fate. Please take a moment to watch Alyssa's memorial video and explore the links below to better understand why it is so important for her legacy to live on and continue helping others.
