Nail Trim Assessment

If your dog’s nails have grown too long and are curling, especially around the dewclaws, we would be happy to assess the situation. Dogs naturally hide signs of pain as a survival instinct, but once the nail begins to curl into the pad or pressure is applied while walking, it can be very painful. We have extensive experience in rehabilitating these types of nail issues, often saving clients from costly veterinary bills.

What is a quick?

The "quick" is the sensitive area inside the nail that contains blood vessels and nerves. When nail trims are not done regularly, the quick can grow longer, which increases the risk of painful injuries, such as nail splitting or cracking. To prevent this, we recommend trimming your dog's nails every two weeks. Consistent, routine trims will help ensure the quick recedes and remains at a safe length.

A dog training consultation is the first step in creating a customized training plan for your dog. 

During the consultation, we take the time to understand your dog’s behavior, history, environment, and your goals as an owner. We'll assess any behavioral issues, discuss your daily routines, and observe how your dog interacts with people and surroundings.

This session usually lasts about 30 minutes and may include:

• A behavioral assessment
• Discussion of training goals (basic obedience, manners, behavior modification, etc.)
• Recommendations for training methods and tools
• A proposed training plan tailored to your dog’s needs
• Answers to any questions you have about training, diet, or general care
  

By the end of the consultation, you'll have a clear understanding of the next steps and how we can help you and your dog succeed.
